EDEN95 Announced – A Narrative Survivorlike Set Inside a Windows 95 Desktop

It’s 1995. You receive a message from a company called Eden Group. Complete their video game, and the reward will be enough to save your dying father’s life. They say they chose you because you’re the best in the world at what you do. With a reward like that, you never thought to ask questions.

The PC boots. The fans spin up. A desktop appears.

EDEN95 is played entirely through a simulated Windows 95 desktop environment, menus, overlays, and all game views are presented as windows on a retro desktop OS. At its core is a top-down bullet hell where your mech cannot move on its own. Every shot fired pushes you in the opposite direction – mastering your weapon is mastering your movement.

Key Features

  • Recoil-based movement — Your gun is your engine. Every shot propels you in the opposite direction, making movement and combat inseparable.
  • Magazine buildcrafting — You are the architect of your magazine. Choose bullet types for each slot and apply modifiers that change the way they fire.
  • Strategic shooting — Bullets fire in sequence, each with unique properties. Planning your loadout is as important as your aim.
  • Roguelite progression — Upgrade your mech mid-run to survive the immediate threat, then spend your earnings on permanent upgrades between runs to go further next time.
  • Quest-based level progression — Each level comes with uniquely designed objectives that advance your mission and earn your next assignment from Eden Group.
  • An unfolding story — Uncover the truth as you progress. Will you follow Eden Group’s orders, or choose to deviate?
