Indie developer Mashed Pixels has released a playable demo for The Forsaken Tomb on Steam, giving players their first hands-on experience of its anomaly-spotting psychological horror game, ahead of the game’s full launch this March.
The Forsaken Tomb is an atmospheric first-person horror game centred on observation, tension and paranoia. Players explore an ancient, ever-shifting tomb where nothing can be taken at face value, studying each room for irregularities that shouldn’t be there. Rooms subtly change, details feel wrong, and survival depends on the player’s ability to notice anomalies before it’s too late.
The newly released Steam demo offers a self-contained slice of the experience, introducing players to the tomb’s unsettling atmosphere, procedural room generation and anomaly-spotting gameplay. Each playthrough is unpredictable, with billions of possible room combinations, to keep players constantly second-guessing their surroundings.
Key Features:
- Anomaly-spotting horror – Study your surroundings closely and identify what doesn’t belong.
- Procedurally generated tomb – Billions of possible room combinations ensure no two runs feel the same.
- Two gameplay modes (full game only), offering different ways to experience and master the tomb.
- Four difficulty modes (full game only) to put players’ observation skills to the ultimate test.
- Multiple different endings to collect – Discover every possible outcome as you progress through the tomb.
- Atmospheric tension driven by sound design, lighting and environmental detail.
- Designed for replayability – Short, intense runs that reward careful attention and mastery.
The Forsaken Tomb is currently in development for PC (Steam), with a planned Early Access release in March 2026.
