Today, Everbloom Games released a playable demo for Nullpoint Protocol, a 1-4 player co-op roguelite that delivers the intensity of MMO-style raid encounters without the grind. The demo is available now on Steam and supports both online and couch co-op, as well as single-player runs.
Nullpoint Protocol aims to capture the feeling of MMORPG raids in an approachable roguelite format. The game takes inspiration from roguelikes such as Rabbit and Steel as well as boss raids in MMORPGs like Final Fantasy XIV.
During each run, players hunt down the Void Shepherds: enigmatic monstrosities that appear capable of pulling entire planets and stars into oblivion. As a Hunter, your job is to find and destroy as many of these creatures as you can before returning to defend your homeworld from the creator of all Void Shepherds.
Each boss fight unleashes complex attack patterns, which you must learn to read and dodge. Every run gives you another opportunity to hone your skills, unlock new abilities, and upgrade your character.
The game dynamically scales difficulty based on party size, ensuring that solo play and co-op sessions remain equally challenging and balanced.
Demo Features
- 3 raid-style boss encounters.
- 29 player abilities (15 core abilities, with additional upgrades earned through loot drops and shops).
- Online co-op and local couch co-op support.
Full Game
The full release of Nullpoint Protocol will expand on the demo with additional bosses, a wider ability pool, meta progression systems, lore journals, and randomized events that can dramatically alter the course of a run. The game is currently scheduled to release in 2026.
