Solo developer Kaeru Takeda announced today, March 23, 2026, that the Steam store page for Meowpire, a spectator simulation × clicker in which players watch cats fight for supremacy across a continent and occasionally intervene with divine powers, is now live.
A Spectator Simulation Where You Watch Cats Shape History
Meowpire is a clicker and spectator simulation game centered on watching cats wage war. Rather than directly controlling units, players take on the role of a god, observing the world from above and intervening using Faith Points earned through prayer.
The core experience is watching the history of these cats unfold on its own. It is designed as a game you can leave running at the edge of your monitor while you work, clicking in from time to time for a bit of casual entertainment.
Divine Powers
The game features a wide variety of “Divine Powers.” Some are designed to aid the cats, such as blessings and hero summons, while others bring destruction, including storms, earthquakes, plagues, and meteors.
There are also powers that plunge the world into chaos, such as forcing ceasefires, breaking alliances through betrayal, and triggering revolutions that spark territorial uprisings.
Map Editor and Other Features
Meowpire also includes a map editor that allows players to create their own battlefields. By painting tiles as if coloring them in, players can freely expand terrain, generate custom maps, and place cats wherever they like.
Additional features include:
- Three game speed settings to adjust the pace of spectating.
- Three map types.
- Three difficulty levels.
- 30 Steam achievements.
- Support for Japanese, English, Chinese.
- A chronicle system that records events throughout the game’s history.
