RzvGames, the solo development studio led by Razvan Moraru, today announced Thieves and Gold, a single-player incremental heist game coming to Steam.
Set in a starving valley ruled by a greedy lord, Thieves and Gold puts players in charge of a band of thieves operating from a cave hideout. Each run drops players into compact treasure rooms packed with furniture, crates, chests, and strongboxes to smash open for gold, keys, and relics. The goal is simple: break everything, grab as much as possible, and get out before time runs out or greed ends the run.
Every successful haul feeds into long-term progression. Players can recruit new thieves, upgrade skills, improve their crew, and send idle thieves on jobs across the town to earn rewards between runs. The game blends short, high-pressure heists with steady meta progression, giving players more ways to grow stronger with every return to the hideout.
Thieves and Gold features four thief roles that shape each run in different ways: Breakers smash faster, Seekers help uncover key targets, Collectors scoop up loot more efficiently, and Support thieves provide a run-wide bonus. Players can hire up to four thieves and decide how to use them both during heists and between runs.
The game also includes two ways to play. In Heist Mode, players race against greed and time, pushing their luck for bigger rewards. In Casual Mode, they can focus on smashing, looting, and building their crew at a more relaxed pace.
“Thieves and Gold is built around a very direct fantasy: smash fast, grab faster, and decide how greedy you want to be,” said Razvan, solo developer at RzvGames. “I wanted to make a game where destruction, loot, and risk all feed into each other, while still giving players satisfying long-term progression through their crew and upgrades.”
A demo for Thieves and Gold is currently planned for May 2026. The full release is planned for Q3 2026 on Steam, with a planned launch price of around $5 USD.
