Chinese Horror-Mystery Game Firework Launches on Nintendo Switch April 16

Firework, a horror-mystery narrative game developed by Shiying Studio and published by Gamirror Games, will launch on the Nintendo Switch eShop on April 16, 2026.

The game will be priced at USD 9.99, with a 30% launch discount available for the first two weeks after release.

Set against a backdrop of Chinese folk culture and traditions, Firework is a story-driven horror puzzle game that first launched on Steam in February 2021. Since then, it has drawn widespread attention for its emotionally resonant storytelling, nuanced character writing, and distinctive atmosphere rooted in Chinese horror. The game currently holds an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, with more than 40,000 user reviews and a 97% positive score.

The story begins with the murder of an entire family in a remote mountain town. As the investigation unfolds, players are drawn into a web of complex relationships involving rookie police officer Lin Lixun, volunteer teacher Chen Qingsui, doctor Ye Jingshan, and the four members of the Tian family. Through its layered narrative and carefully developed cast, Firework gradually reveals the truth behind the case — leading to something far more unsettling than a simple criminal investigation.

Originally developed using RPG Maker, Firework also faced a number of technical challenges during its transition to Nintendo Switch. Thanks to the joint efforts of the development and porting teams, players around the world will soon be able to experience this haunting Eastern mystery in a more accessible format.

Blending psychological tension with culturally grounded storytelling and a deeply human narrative, Firework offers a horror experience driven as much by atmosphere and emotion as by fear itself.
