Dive into a fragmented mind in Shil, a silhouette-based first-person puzzle game from OSM Games

Independent studio OSM Games has revealed Shil, a reality-twisting first-person puzzle game that invites players to step into the unfinished, fever-dream-esque replica of the protagonist’s own mind. Born from a prototype glitch gone right, Shil promises a hyper-stylised perspective-shifting adventure when it releases on PC next year.

This game will make you smart. Not Oxford-smart, more like microdosing-in-Silicon Valley-smart. By stripping the world down to a striking, two-colour silhouette, Shil pushes players to reconstruct 3D spaces using only their intuition and the ability to shift perspectives. Only thinking outside of the box (or incomplete mind) will see you reach one of the story’s multiple endings.

In the world of Shil, the real danger is what you can’t see, something players will discover as they journey through shattered realms with invisible reptiles, human-sized pistols, or even invaders from space… On the flip side, there’s also a chance of seeing transparent whales broadcasting messages of goodwill as you pass by, so it’s not all bad and dangerous!

Shil’s story focuses on a psychological tug-of-war: the AI that built this world acts as your companion and guide, but its true motives remain shrouded in mystery… At each step of the way, you’ll have to choose to trust your new companion, resist it, or even try to break it! Multiple endings await, and your choices will guide how the narrative moves forward.

Key features:

  • Use perspective as a weapon to reveal hidden paths and neutralise hostile foes.
  • Uncover a distorted world, piece by piece, and rebuild 3D spaces through clever use of silhouettes.
  • Enjoy the striking aesthetic of a bold and minimalist two-colour style.
  • A story that explores moral and logical choices with multiple endings to discover.
  • Trust, or don’t trust, an AI companion whose motive remains hidden.

Shil will manifest on PC and VR platforms in 2027. Head to the Steam page for more information and to wishlist the game.
