“The Parking Garage”

Solo indie developer Marukereba Studio has launched the Steam store page for “The Parking Garage,” a first-person anomaly-spotting horror walking simulator. The game is planned for release in Spring 2026.

In “The Parking Garage,” players explore a dimly lit multi-story parking garage, carefully observing each floor to determine whether an “anomaly” is present. The game is designed to be a horror experience that anyone can enjoy — there are absolutely no jumpscares.

HOW IT WORKS

Players start on the 8th floor of a parking garage and must judge whether each floor contains an anomaly.

  • Anomaly detected: Move to the lower floor.
  • No anomaly: Move to the upper floor.

Make 7 correct decisions in a row, and you’ll reach the 1st floor where the exit opens. But one wrong call sends you back to square one.

The floor you start on may seem perfectly normal. But the moment you move to the next, the garage begins to quietly change…

FEATURES

  • 40 Types of Anomalies: Once you correctly identify an anomaly, it won’t appear again until all anomalies have been cleared. Each playthrough brings you closer to the ones you haven’t found yet.
  • Test Your Observation Skills: From the obvious to the extremely hard to spot — anomalies vary widely in difficulty. Don’t miss even the slightest oddity.
  • No Jumpscares: There are no sudden loud noises or shock effects. Though, you will step into a strange world.
  • Short Game: 15 minutes to 2 hours per playthrough. Finding every anomaly is the ultimate goal.

I’m someone who is drawn to horror but can’t handle anything too intense. I made this game for people like me — those who are curious about horror but find most titles too frightening.

The anomalies in this game are designed to feel “strange” rather than “scary.” They are subtle distortions of the everyday — the kind of wrongness hiding in plain sight. Once you notice it, a familiar parking garage transforms into somewhere else entirely.

I hope the store page sparks your curiosity.
